Precious in His Sight

Jes Willis

Morning Devotion to help encourage and challenge your thought process today I was reading in Isaiah 53 and these verses stuck out to me

‘All of us, like sheep, have strayed away. We have left God’s paths to follow our own. Yet the Lord laid on him the sins of us all. But he was pierced for our rebellion, crushed for our sins. He was beaten so we could be whole. He was whipped so we could be healed. Yet it was our weaknesses he carried; it was our sorrows that weighed him down. And we thought his troubles were a punishment from God, a punishment for his own sins! ‘

Isaiah 53:4-6 NLT

Does it make you aware of how precious you are to God that he would come down and take your sins on himself as his? He lived a life of purity and went through all of our same fleshly challenges to become the replacement for us. His heart was always seeking the Father to get him through the challenges of this life.

Pause for a moment and ask yourself: what is your heart seeking? Are you allowing the Holy Spirit to draw you closer to the Father, or are you unintentionally running away?’

Consider this: The Father gave us a gift in Jesus, and Jesus gifted us the Holy Spirit so that we could have his presence with us always. Reflect on the profound implications of this. Without Jesus’ death on the cross, we would still be separated from the Father. The Holy Spirit would not have been able to come and dwell in us, and we would not have a relationship with the Lord or with God. This is a testament to the transformative power of Jesus’ sacrifice.’

This can change how you think about life and how you view the things you go through.
